Inside and Outside My Sketch Book

I've been spending odd moments this week, doodling about, cutting and sticking. It's really fun. But I do keep wondering what to do with all these things I keep making. Should I open up a little shop? Would anyone buy these? Eeek, it's scary getting back into this again, but I do feel very inspired at the moment, by my friends, by Flickr favourites, by my beloved little blog, by the creative people it has introduced to me and by all your lovely comments. Your thoughts, as ever, are welcome.

So, here they are, owls, geometrics and colour abound, some are finished, others are fledgling ideas waiting to develop...

i'm with erika, my faves are the simple patterns, and of course i love the graph paper. it's v hard to say what will sell, you never know. but i would def give it a go and don't be despondent if it takes a while, it can do. x

I think if you've got the time and the urge, then you should definitely go for it. I however, have the urge but not the time, which is why my Folksy shop has only 1 item for sale [looks forlornly towards workshop, then rescues toddler from hand stuck in video recorder]

whats to loose dear ? you just darn well go for it , I am a great believer that when a person is ready , the universe will provide ....the creative path is an organic one and your work will find its way , if you have an urge to go for it then you MUST listen to it , do you hear me ! x

I adore the owl and the colorful graphics! Like Francesca said, you can never really know if it's gonna be a success on forehand. It's not much work to just give it a try with a few items (though it can become a lot of work when you invest a lot in maintaining your shop, PR etc.! And actual selling causes a lot of work too!). I've already learnt from my own etsy-experiences that you can't predict anything: sometimes I love an item myself, but it doesn't sell at all, while at the same time something I have a lot of doubts of sells within a few days.

So I think you should just give it a try. Select a few of your nicest items, find a reasonable price for them and just go! ;)
