Getting Ready

This is just a quicky (aren't they all these days?) because I'm going to watch the Mercury Music Prize in a bit. I am hoping, hoping, hoping that Wild Beasts storm it. My friends Nat & Nina introduced me to them about two and a half weeks ago, and I have barely listened to owt else. The lyrics! Hayden's voice! Hayden! Ahem. I haven't liked a band so unabashedly for aaaages.

Anyway, I have been clearing up my studio today, as over the summer it got rather used and abused. It has been quite satisfying, but as you might imagine there's still a lot of stuff in it. It's such a small but multi-purposed room. I sew, draw, whatever, up here, Iris reads and plays with her dolls house, Paul play guitar and writes music (not all at the same time you understand, but still). Oh and it's here that I store all my shop stock as well.

Next up, I'm going to be updating the shop, getting a new project offa the ground, writing more blog, and generally giving myself a kick up the arse. Stand by!

We're standing by!

There's a whole lot of magic in that room. I spy a quality street tin and a little owl. I'm very happy to see them. Me and the dolly have the same hair issues.

Your studio looks so pretty and inspiring. I would LOVE a room to put all my craft stuff in, I might actually see the carpet in all the other rooms! However all that extra space might be very dangerous, I would never hold back on a fabric purchase again!

Yes there's something about Autumn arriving that makes or want to tidy (more so than spring) maybe it's knowing that we'll soon be spending lots of time at home on those cold winter nights : ) The studio looks great!

I too am a Wild Beasts fan, try to see a gig if you can, they're great live. Shame they didn"t win.
Your studio looks full of inspiration and I love all your finds. Good luck with the new project.

Oh, I just love all of those lovely, little finds in your studio. They are perfect! So....cake recipe posts (I was making plum cakes too and am excited to try my hand at yours) and old wood dolls from Poland...so many similarities and so far away. It always makes me so happy and the world feel a bit smaller visiting this space of yours. All the best, a
