More Sunday Finds and A Tag

Here are the rest of my treasures from my bountiful day yesterday.

A beautiful Kenneth Townsend Lion tile for 10p. I have been watching some of these on ebay, and in fact, there's one on there right now and it's up to £44. I should sell it, and I probably will, but I'm going to have him around for a little while first.

A brilliant sewing aid - is it Cloth Kits? It kind of looks like it to me. Anyway, it's a measuring tape, it's a pin cushion, it's got a tiny pocket for buttons and two poppered loops for scissors, you just hang it round your neck and get on with your sewing task. I love it. I wore it for ages last night just because.

A darling Paris scene, nicely framed. As I was looking at it, a couple were reminiscing about their honeymoon some 48 years ago, and that they had bought a set of these pictures, and so it brought back lots of lovely romantic memories for them and made my heart a little gladder too.

Green and gold bracelet, that I am fiercely loving. In spite of the fact that it has broken twice and I haven't even had it for 24 hours. It's that jade-y green and the gleaming gold together, I just love it!

And finally, a little easily-assembled box for holding a present or two. Love the illustration.

Also, rather sweetly, Anabela from Fieldguided has tagged me, so naughtily instead of doing a lot of shop stuff, I have indulgently and diligently answered the questions instead. Read on, dear readers, it's quite a ramble...

What is your current obsession?
Ha, well, I think we all know that answer to that one don’t we? It’s carboot sales. Or maybe flea markets. Or secondhand shops. Whatever, it’s definitely pre-owned.

What is your weirdest obsession?
Is it carboot sales? Am I weird for thinking about them a lot? going to them all the time? wishing I was omnipresent so I could go to several at once? And just really really really enjoying them? I am unrepentant.

What do you see outside your window?
From where I am sat right now, I can see blue sky, perfect puffed clouds and the verdant green of a forest in the distance. (I’m in my loft). Other windows don’t offer such a bucolic description.

What is your favourite colour?
Orange or red. Or blue or green. I love colour. I don’t think I could chose one or even two.

What is your weakness?
Oh dear. Green and Blacks almond chocolate. Any sort of second-hand shopping opportunity. Books. I have many, many, many weaknesses, I fear.

What animal would you be?
An owl. They seem to have a pretty good deal. Sleep all day. Stay up all night. Live in the woods. Yep, an owl.

What do you want to never happen in life?
Nothing bad to happen to my sweet family and dear friends.

What is on your bedside table?
I don’t have one, so on the windowsill is a raft of books I haven’t read yet, and under the bed is a veritable raft of books I have started and not got round to finishing. Our bedside light is broken so reading at bedtime is off (until Wednesday, whoo!)

What's the last thing you bought?
Not one thing. Many things, see the post before this one!

What do you think about the person that tagged you?
I think Anabela is wonderful, I haven’t known her and Fieldguided for long but I think she’s super creative, down to earth and she has a great fringe. And I’m looking forward to hearing more about her and Geoff's Fieldguided adventures.

What was your favourite children's book?
Alice in Wonderland

Who do you want to meet in person?
Oh, that’s a tough one. Lots of people actually. I’m rather curious as to some of the people I have met through my blog and around the interweb.

What did you want to be as a child?
A fashion designer I think, I used to draw a lot of crazy dresses in front of Dallas on a Saturday night.

What did you dream about last night?
I don’t always remember my dreams. I wish I did. Last night? Complete blank.

Which do you prefer, day or night
It depends. I used to love staying up late before I had Iris. I still do love to stay up late but that doesn’t always work so well with an unforgivingly early riser like Iris. Early mornings can be lovely though (and essential for carbooting).

What's your favourite piece of clothing in your closet?
I found a midnight blue chiffon-y dress with a neck tie in a vintage clothes shop at the weekend, it needs altering but when it’s been nipped and tucked I think it’s going to be a really great super-flattering dress.

What's your plan for tomorrow?
Work some more on my shop, hang out with Iris, go to The Field to meet our friends, tend our crops and have supper al fresco.

What would you like to get your hands on right now?
Time. And a cleaner.

What is your must have of the moment?
So many. I want some cute sandals. And some more dresses. And blouses. And…

What's your favourite tea flavour?
Only ever camomile. With a half a teaspoon of honey.

If you could go anywhere is the world right now, where would you go?
I’d love to go to America. Anywhere where there’s an abundance of yard sales naturally. But I also want to go to Sweden rather desperately. And back to Italy. Can I have an around-the-world ticket please?

I have pinched this question from Anabela’s last tag -
If you could be eating anything at all right now, what would it be?
Cake. Good homemade cake. Maybe an almond and orange cake, sticky with orange-y syrup. I have been thinking about making one for about a week. Siiigh.

Phew, that was a long one wasn't it? Well done for making it to the end! I throw it open to anyone of you marvellous readers, and if you do do it, will you leave a comment and let me know? I'd love to get to know you better!

What wonderful answers Nath. Now that Tile is lovely. I think you are having good luck with finding images of lions! Now I've been wondering. How will the swap work? I think I should be getting prepared!

Lovely to read this! I had that tag too, must start working on it soon! I'm always happy to see that you're even a more fanatic thrifter than I am! ;) The lion tile is most stunning by the way, and isn't it a thrill to get something so cheap while knowing that it's worth much more? (I once found this super cheap amazing Arabia tea set in a thrift shop and was so excited, that I was worried that my excited face would betray me, and they would say: '2 euro? No, better make it 40!' I'm still practicing my neutral face each time I find something really good...
