Screenprint Extravaganza

So, here I am, back from my screen-printing workshop - it was two days of giddying and frenzied activity. It really made me hanker after my student days, and also reignited my love and passion for printmaking.

I had some rather ambitious plans that didn't exactly come to fruition, which was a tad disappointing. However, I did make a lot of prints on paper, some are finished and some require a bit more work. I am happy with that.

And now, predictably, I want to do more. MORE! I'm thinking about how I can make that a reality, given that there are no printing facilities round here. A gocco, perhaps?

So, here are a favourite few, and as ever I am keen to hear your thoughts.

hey! got here from a comment you left on my blog :)
I like your screenprinting adventures!
Especially the the one second from the bottom. I was just remembering how terrible I was at it in school, I couldn't make a clean print very well, I was so messy. . . my little sister is in the class now, hopefully she'll do better at it. Your shapes (yes, I am a fellow triangle lover)
make me think you might like this artist (perhaps you already know of him) Mauricio Lasansky. You can find his entire catalog on lasanskyart.com, the later ones are better. I love him!

I really like the 4th one, it's got a lovely simplicity about it. Why not try the old picture frame/net curtain/window squeegee method at home? Cheap as chips, and good messy fun!

Nath!
We've both been printing...I am rather jello of your screen printing adventures. I also feel your pain in not being able to continue without facilities. When the bug bites it's hard to stop. I really like number 4. It's like a story, a journey. And it would look smashing in my charcoal and scarlet bathroom ;-)

they're just gorgeous! My favourites are the top one and number four. The second one down makes me think of Paul Klee. I think this triangle thing is set to roll. When can we expect to purchase some triangly cloth?

These are great, they look a bit like Russian Abstract- Constructivism designs ( I think ) the plain red and grey 4th down works extremely well.

BEAUTIFUL. You talented lady you. Love the last one. AND what is a Gocco? I have to know. Has everyone got one? Am I the last one to realise that there is a gocco craze going on? I like the word, I think I obviously need one. x

wow! great work nath, you certainly packed a lot in in 2 days. i love the top one the best, has an italian futurist quality about it, if i am thinking of the right art movement...or is it russian?! anyway, really vibrant. x

Sounds like so much fun with that screen-printing workshop! I have just recently realized how much i like triangles. (a lot thanks to ungtblod) At first I fell for the top one, but now i think I like the second one better, or at least just as much. They all look great!
