Untitled

This is a post about, well, nothing really. And therein lies the problem.

I'm feeling distinctly lacking in inspiration. It's quite confounding and discombobulating. I don't know whether to do some more plates, or some more designs for envelop or whether to jazz up the shop a bit. I am cast adrift.

So, I sat at my desk and moved/straightened some piles of paper around, then I tipped all these shapes out and moved them around a bit.

I looked at the wall and my clutter, ahem, treasures.

Then I gave up, and came downstairs again. Maybe tomorrow will be different?

Keep going, see it through, it's hard, but you'll get there in the end :)

Im the world's worst procrastinator - I drive myself barmy!
I love your cushions for envelop, I saw Elisabeth's a while back - think I might give it a try, (being a fellow fustrated screen-printer) if I can stop dithering:)

Oh poor you Nath. I did knock on your door 2 days ago to say hello hello, but the house was empty. Sending you lots of love and hope the 'stuck' feeling passes soon. x

I think that sometimes, you have to stop trying and it will come. Do some baking or dancing, or at a push cleaning!!

Oh we all have these days Nath... just do something else today, it'll come back! Sometimes a little pressure helps as well. For example I was feeling similar yesterday, but I just had to finish some custom orders, and then I just had to 'fill the kiln' so kept going. The first things weren't so great, but slowly the fun came back, and in the end I was working till deep into the night again... ;) But a day or more off sometimes isn' bad either!

Well, if it helps I liked your post all the same. I'm sitting at my desk, eating soups, trying to write some radio scripts... and wishing I had some little bits of coloured paper to move about too. (My expression today actually looks like the second shot!)

Oh - this happens to me a lot. It is unsettling. Sometimes it takes just a little while to go away and sometimes longer. But inspiration ALWAYS comes back. Wishing you and inspiring day Nath!!

Looks playful though, this, and very graphic. I bet something will come out of it.

Don't worry. We all have this. You might wake up tomorrow with a completely different outlook.

Those shapes remind me very much of something from when I was younger but I can't for the life of me remember what. I tend to find I get most inspired after browsing the web for a while and looking at what inspires other people. I also find inspiration seems to come when I don't expect it or when I'm not looking for it so perhaps you should just take a break for a few days?

You shuffled bits of paper, in my book thats a major achievement. I stared at a blank piece of paper so long yesterday that I dribbled on it.
