Midweek Finds and Blogging Etiquette

It seems I am still rather behind what with one thing and another, as all over the house, here and there, are things calling out to be photographed and blogged about. *Sigh*

However, I still seem to be in my honeymoon period with Flickr and have been uploading lots of new things to that recently, so do pop over to have a look.

And lastly, a plea for advice, I am pretty new to this blogging malarky. Tell me your secrets, readers, (if you're out there), how do you get people to follow you Pied Piper style? Me, I am quite the follower, I have about 40 blogs on my list right now, but my list of followers is depressingly low. Wail! Any tips or helpful hints would be gratefully and solemnly received. That said, I have had some really lovely comments recently, which make me very happy indeed so thank you for those!

Mini crisis of confidence aside - here are a few vintage tidbits...

Gloriously orange egg plate - just in time for Easter! I'm going to fill it up with a selection of Green and Blacks finest.

Sweet French shirt for Iris (needs an iron - will probably never get ironed).

The Eiffel Tower - Paul raised his eyebrow quizzically at this when I presented it to him... Pfff!

And a Nancy Sinatra and Lee Hazelwood record. For a friend. Slightly odd cover, non?

Followers are on blogger, right? The thing is, ot's impossible to know how many people follow a blog. But I'll add you to my list.

that's one of our favourite records. i even got the cover printed onto a t'shirt for ben a few years ago!

i honestly don't know how you get followers, it just happens. but i guess the more you comment on other people's blogs, the more visible you are. with me it's more about quality than quantity. i've 'met' some lovely, like-minded people through blogging, who i now consider actual friends! also i wouldn't judge your traffic by the official blogger following tool. i don't officially 'follow' any blogs but i sure visit a lot!

i'm giving you an award. keep an eye on my blog tomorrow!

I absolutely LOVE the photo of that blouse - I've downloaded it to my inspiration file! Keep doing what you love, leaving comments, and not worrying too much about it and the followers will follow.

so I am not the ONLY one to have mini crisis , seriously , I know exactly how you feel , I think that you are doing a great job and that casapinka sums it up very well. You obviously enjoy what you do , I love reading your blog and I put it on my list of faves, the funny thing is people say they look at my blog and that it has inspired them but that they dont like the public aspect of having the account so they can comment .Thats the tough bit . Good luck and always believe. x

Hello everyone,

Thank you all for your kind and generous words of encouragement, you've stiffened my resolve to continue, it's very reassuring to know that you're all out there! Yay!

Something I discovered that seems to bring the lurkers out of the woodwork... I saw that on The Small Object (there's a link on my blog) she was doing a prize draw and giving away some small pieces of fabric she'd designed (they are to die for) anyone who leaves a comment is entered. Quite a good way of finding out who is out there I thought! If you want to put that lovely fabric elephant up for grabs, you know where I am ;)

Hello and thanks for your visit to my blog :)
I wouldn't pay too much attention to your "followers", a lot of people (like me) have readers where they see their favorite blogs so they don't show up. Just keep going, it's fun.
