More Plates

In my bag of swag from the weekend was a few more plates to play with. So, a night or two ago, I dusted off my scissors and set about making these. What do you think?

I have been trying to source some decal paper that can be fired, which would make the plates both useful and decorative. At the moment, they are purely decorative, which is fine by me, but perhaps if you were buying one, you might want to submerge it in hot soapy water? Or is it fine to just hang it on a wall or the mantelpiece and simply enjoy looking at it?

I have quite a growing pile of them and I'd like to put a few in the shop. So please do elucidate me with your thoughts on the matter if you'd be so kind..

Hi Nath,

Love the red rose one. I have found this site that supplies decal paper that you can fire in your home oven to make it dishwasher safe. It sounds like quite a process though and you need to have access to a lazer printer (maybe there is one at a print shop you could use).

This is the link to the paper:

They really are fabulous - love them! If the crafty computer paper works it would be great to be able to use them as well :) K

ooo I love them! I think they're just fine as a decorative plate, but I guess it would be nice to be able to give them a clean... Good luck on the hunt for fireable paper!

I think they are awesome as decoration... but they would be even awesomer if they could be washed. You know they would look so so pretty with cupcakes on them!! (The pinky one is my fav!)

I love them too! For me, it would totally be enough to hang them on the wall where I could gaze upon them daily...I would love to have an arrangement of them in my dining area...Great work, as usual, Nath!

Hmm, I don't know about decal paper..but I know you can get pens that you can draw on ceramics and with "fire" in your oven to make permanent. I got mine from Baker Ross (I think it's .co.uk but you may need to google)
